“New wine bar is something completely different for Dublin” from the Irish Times

Fantastic new wine bar Allta has opened its doors to the public with Cromane Bay Oysters on the menu. Not only are we delighted to supply Allta with our superior quality Oysters and Crab, our own Patrick T O’Sullivan has even made a lasting impression on the decor! A giant mural by the talented Subset taken from a photograph by the amazing Ed Schofield. What a combination of artists!

But forget about us… food is key to this fantastic project. At Allta, the Irish for wild, Niall Davidson & Hugh Higgins insist on using Irish sustainable ingredients and cooking everything from scratch when possible – a minimalist approach fixed on natural flavours. They describe their restaurant as “Fun and informal but with serious food”.

So exited for the opening of what is sure to be a top addition to the Dublin dining scene… and we wish everyone in Allta the best of luck for the future. We can’t wait to taste Allta’s Cromane Oysters & Rhubarb Vinegar… YUM!

“I want this to be fun and informal, but with super serious food,” chef Niall Davidson says of the 48-seat wine bar he is opening on the corner of Setanta Place and South Frederick Street. “I want it to be the complete opposite of a fine dining, white table cloth venture, but with all the integrity of the best restaurants in the world.” Quote: The Irish Times
